Absurdity

Scanography, 2018

This project aims to explore the imagery of time and express the uniqueness of individual human beings through creating a series of abstract images in unconventional ways. I am fascinated by the relationship between flatbed scanners, movements and time. Scanners are used to accurately duplicate documents and images. In contrast to the duplication purpose of a scanner, I explore on this process to create a unique and unrepeatable image. I experiment on different movements, creating various textures, lines and shapes. I also aim to grant the scanned object a new meaning by treating the scanner as a medium of recording events. These unrepeatable images are acts reflecting myself and an evocation to self-awareness through the flow of time.
